The Frog Prince and Princess, miniature art doll figure
This is my version of one of my favorite fairytales. The Frog Prince, written by the Brothers Grimm. It is a magically written tale to teach all of us a lesson to keep our promises!
This is a mixed media art doll figure that I created to celebrate the magical little things in life that keep our hearts young!
SIZE:
Princess is 7 inches tall.
Frog Prince is 3/4 inch
DETAILS:
I sculpted the frog and the princesses’ face using paper clay. I do not use molds, so every piece is unique and one of a kind. I then use acrylic paints to bring them to life!
Her body is made by creating a wire armature and wrapping it with string and cotton to form the shape. Her dress and hennin hat are made from a variety of materials, including hand dyed silk, painted lace, fabric, paper, beads, tinsel, glitter, tulle, ribbon, and other embellishments.
Her hair is made from tinted cotton and is braided in a renaissance style. The back of her hair is secured with tinsel netting. So much fun!
The frog prince is wearing a metal crown adorned with blue and gold glass glitter.
The princess holds her golden ball that is made from a wood bead painted gold.
They are permanently mounted on a small wooden base that has been trimmed with chenille and tinsel ribbon.
This piece is also a reminder to never grow up as Peter Pan famously quoted!
